To reach consumers with news of ZipLocal’s enhanced site launch, the Company is leveraging an aggressive mix of traditional print/broadcast/online advertising with public relations and innovative/guerilla marketing tactics.

A highlight of the ongoing campaign is a ZipLocal branded pizza box targeted to the focused demographic of 18-35 (based on 10 and 12 - inch sized pizzas.)  Produced through Fresh Tracks Media, The branded boxes are hitting independent pizza outlets in Toronto and Ottawa this week and will be delivered (while quantities last.) until the end of the year.

ZipLocal also took to the streets with a guerilla marketing campaign to coincide with the launch of the enhanced site on November first. Hitting high-profile locations like the ByWard Market and Rideau Centre in Ottawa, Place Ville-Marie and McGill/Concordia corridor in Montreal and the Yonge/Eglinton TTC station and Queen/Spadina intersection in Toronto, orange clad ZipLocal representatives handed out Metro newspaper copies to hundreds of commuters.

“In the first 18 days of our campaign, we’ve seen an increase to overall site traffic by 25% and an increase of direct traffic by 150%,” added Kunda.

Utilizing more traditional methods, ZipLocal continues a major media buy for Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal in Metro Newspapers running from November 1 to mid December.
ZipLocal has also made significant ad buys on news radio outlets in Toronto and Montreal running into the month of December.

Rounding out the aggressive campaign, ZipLocal is also running ads online and in Cineplex theatres in all six major markets (Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Ottawa).
